shinycobra: Santiago Armengod - Refugio (Refuge) In September 2011, Justseeds had an installation show named Refuge in Slovenia. Part of the show was to produce a section of the installation to be a comforting atmosphere, which was the “refuge” section of the installation. That little section had hand printed flags hanging up above. So 5 members of Justseeds and one guest artist created 6 Lino prints that signified refuge and comfort to be reproduced on the multiple color flags. I instantly thought of the Zapatistas. Creating autonomous communities through direct action and collective process in the middle of this Capitalist madness continues to provide relief, hope and an example for us all.
